We getting married is!
By Dani | February 5, 2009 | Filed in: Proposal, RingsI was going to have Annie kick this off with the story of us getting engaged, but she is going to sleep. So instead I will scatter confetti-like thoughts at you!
I have been collecting ideas for our wedding for like probably since before we admitted we were dating. I wasn’t sure whether I wanted to wear a dress or a suit or something else, but then I happened across this and I was like, that is my dress:
Except with a green ribbon. Our wedding colors are like leaf-green (or maybe just all shades of green – it is going to be outside, after all) and that dark burnt orange color you get right at the horizon at the end of a sunset. (That one was Annie’s choice. She was really excited about a sunset. I think it was on the way to Austin and Nikki’s wedding in October, actually.)
We also both hell of want this cake, but… more to look at than to eat. Perhaps someone could recreate it as an entertaining sculpture to look at forever.
Isn’t it be-yoo-ti-ful?
We could, of course, probably get the Princess/Mario cake topper. I’ve noticed that cakes don’t seem to have toppers anymore. Austin: no topper. Yael: no topper. Daniel: no topper. Huge cake gallery at theknot.com: nary a topper in sight.
Maybe we could just put a very tiny robot panda on the cake.
Married.
The dress I want

Hey now, the robot panda is obviously *my* cake topper. *Imagines Godzilla & Robot panda battling it out on top of a wedding cake shaped like Tokyo; wants to get married just to make that happen.*
I suggest maybe Kang & Kodos….

GENIUS!!!!
Robot Panda FTW.
I am having trouble imagining what a Tokyo-shaped wedding cake would look like tho. Maybe there is just a cityscape on it?

If you married Godzilla, you could make it all happen! but he'd probably stomp the cake before you got a good picture of it.
Huh. This plugin for threaded comments seems to work ok, but I don't WANT it to show my name as "oakling" when I posted the blog entry as "Dani." More study is needed….
